Formatting Your Work
This is an A5 size doujinshi, which means approximately 154x216 mm.
Please allow approximately 3 mm on each side for bleed space. In other words, it may not be printed. You can and should go to the edges of the paper when drawing, but do not put any important elements in the outer 3 mm.
Allow a larger cut-off space for text bubbles. Do not put text within 10mm of the outer edges of the paper.
Please make sure your files are the actual paper size, 154x216.

Resolution for offset printing is 600 dpi for grayscale or black and white pages. Please do not send files that are lower-resolution than this; we cannot accept them.

The preferred file type for submission is Adobe Photoshop PSD. Please merge all layers before sending files. If you do not have PSD, please contact us and let us know what graphics program you are using, and we can find a solution. We will be converting to a different file type for the final submission anyway.

Please do not use other artists' work or text without explicit permission. Do not trace official art or fan art for this work.
Also, please refrain from using trademarked or copyrighted logos, brand names and the like. Since we are printing in Japan and selling in America (as well as by mail to everywhere else), we have to be a little cautious about the copyright laws of both countries.

      Analog Work
Some people may prefer to submit actual hard copies rather than digital files. Please note that we will need you to send the files by airmail to Japan and we will need to receive them at least one week before the deadline (see "Submitting Your Work" below).

Please use A5 doujinshi paper if possible. Screentones should be securely pressed on before you pack up the pages to ship. If you wish, we can also edit the text bubbles if you have the text written by hand. Just bear in mind that this is also time-consuming, and give us extra time by submitting more than one week early.

      Submitting Your Work
June 1st 2008 in your time zone is the absolute deadline.
If possible, submit before then so we have extra time for checking the files and doing test prints.

      You can submit files by:
Emailing the files individually or preferably in a .zip or .rar file
Uploading the files and emailing us a link
Mailing a data disk to us in Japan [please take care that we would receive it on or before June 1st]
We may be able to receive files by FTP as well; stay tuned.

      * If you are submitting hard copies:
Please submit at least one week early. We will need time to scan, clean and format your pages.
Please pack your work very carefully; use stiff cardboard or other packing materials to make sure your work is not bent.
Please avoid shipping your work rolled up in a tube. It is very likely that screentones will come off, ink will be smudged or worn, or that the paper will not scan well.
Check shipping times carefully to make sure we will receive your work on or before May 25.
If your text is handwritten and you need us to edit in printed text, please send in your work one week earlier (by May 18).
